absolutely perfect: fresh, beautiful to look at and delicious. The wait staff and bar staff were impeccable. Not only were they all charming, but they were low key and extremely helpful. They cleaned up at the end and even helped me mop the floor, which I'd promised my friend Lynley I'd do. They worked longer than I thought they would and we were so grateful to them. When I recently had my "special" birthday I spoke to several catering companies and on the recommendation of a colleague made contact with you and I have to say, from beginning to end, the experience was flawless.
A function for 90 people was so easily organised with about two phone calls, and a few emails. The organisation and advice given to me made the planning seamless and more importantly stressless!
On the evening, the staff were immaculate, efficient, discrete but friendly and professional at all times and many of my guests commented accordingly.
The food was delicious - delicate, flavoursome, plentiful and visually attractive.

I just wanted to pass on Lion’s sincere thanks for always being such a reliable and friendly company to deal with. Our staff are always 100% happy with the catering we receive for various functions. Food is definitely the way to everyone’s hearts around here so needless to say… we LOVE Hamish Stewart Catering!
Also just wanted to make special mention of Ngere – the very friendly man who is almost always the one who brings the food to our door. He is always on time and so helpful – a real pleasure! Thanks Ngere!!

Hamish, Many thanks for the wonderful service provided by your team on our Wedding Day. We had planned an extremely personal and special day for ourselves and for those with whom we chose to share this celebration. A major consideration was “no stress” on the day and having sampled your skills at BMW events where both the standard of food and service had been impressive were confident we had the best man for the job. We were wanting to create an intimate and elegant atmosphere where everyone (especially the bride and groom!) would be relaxed and spoilt.
Every aspect of our reception was catered for superbly without incident – from the delivery and collection of glasses, plates and cutlery to on site catering with our own Chef and waitresses to pamper our guests - constantly circulating with platters of food and trays of champagne. We had been treated to samples of the delightful canapés and bowl food the week before but seeing it prepared in our own kitchen in such a professional manner and then served to our guests in what seemed to be a continuous flow of fine food was amazing.
We have received nothing but compliments regarding the quality of food, its presentation and the extremely high standard of the staff who treated our guests in an incredibly special manner – right down to remembering food preferences and allergies each time they served a new dish. Outstanding in a word.
Again –thank you for a truly wonderful experience – every step along the way was a joy and then finally seeing our plans come together on the day was one of those moments in life which will never be forgotten – and your team played a huge role in bringing together our perfect day. Thank you!

Oh my goodness. I cannot thank you, Hamish and the amazing team enough for the amazing service we received on our wedding day. First of all, the food was amazing, which I already knew. Everyone was raving about it – the presentation, the flavours, the theme, everything. The mother of the baby with food allergies was especially impressed with the extra care given in providing her daughter with tomatoes and strawberries etc. Secondly, the service. Our day could have been a complete disaster if it wasn't for your team, who helped us set up and arrange our event, and then set it all up again indoors when Auckland decided to do what it does best: change from bright sunshine to rainy showers, and back and forth again. And they always did so with a smile. It made us feel so at ease because the group took control of the situation and made the day absolutely amazing. Honestly, we were so impressed that we had to toast to them during the wedding toasts! Dylan was incredible – myself, my husband and my family were so impressed and thankful.
There are not enough words for me to say how amazingly brilliant, talented, and professional your team are. If I were wearing a hat, I would take it off to you! The whole process was fun and easy. Thank you so so much. :)

Hamish Stewart Catering are Team McMillan BMW Limited’s on-site caterers at our dealership in Newmarket, providing a variety of food for purchase by our 85+ staff. They are also our preferred caterer for all events held on our premises. They have catered for functions from small boardroom morning teas and lunches to our large BMW events for up to 500 people.
The food provided is of an extremely high standard, innovative and always well presented. Hamish’s catering staff are extremely efficient and friendly. Nothing is ever too much trouble for Hamish and his team and we get many compliments from our clients on the quality of food at our functions.
I would highly recommend Hamish Stewart Catering to anyone considering having a catered function.

Well – what can we say- thank you so much for the great day on Saturday. The food and service was great, so many people commented about the great staff, variety of food and of course beverages and atmosphere! The New Orleans theme went down very well. Sorry Hamish that we didn’t really catch up on the day – it seemed very busy trying to get around 100 guests! Your staff were courteous and fun, and always a step ahead of what we needed – in fact we didn’t have to worry about anything, so thanks for that.
I would imagine you could add all these new Orleans items to your regular menus without any trouble – in fact we had people wanting the jambalaya and beignet recipes. Our only complaint was that there wasn’t any left on Sunday morning. Bummer for us! I hope all went well from your perspective too, we would have no problems providing recommendations if needed,

Foodstuffs (Auckland) Ltd have been using Hamish Stewart Catering for a number of years now. Hamish and his team have catered for us at a number of events including our annual Checker of the Year competition and Auckland Marathon. During Checker of the Year we are subject to very tight time frames; we are always impressed with the exceptional service we receive from them – the food is beautiful and the whole team and wait staff are lovely and their professionalism is invaluable especially when dealing with our what seems like constant changes! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone and everyone!
